Don’t let ‘it’ be me

We all have things we fear
We all have been in tears
what takes you from power
leaving you in a cold shower
of sorrow and tragedy
it’s all right to me
as long as its not me

Don’t let it be me
don’t let me break you down
I never want to be
the one that makes you frown

I am an angel at heart
I wish to paint a world for you
I just don’t know where to start
what do you like
what are your dreams
lets find out everything

What is it that clouds your sky
what makes you want to die
how many ways can you be
lost in sorrow and tragedy
it’s all right to me
as long as its not me

don’t let it be me
don’t let me break you down
I never want to be
the one that makes you frown

I want to see you smile
every once in a while
remind me that its ok
and tell me your fine
I want to be that drink
that decade old wine

I hope I am the best for you
I hope no other can possibly do
a single bit of what I do
for nothing means more to me
than you
being happy

don’t drop, don’t droop
don’t stoop beneath the weight
of what seems like fate
let life light the road
you travel on
and I’ll be the moon

So say it to me
three is my fantasy
say those words to me
because you are everything
every single thing to me

Topsy-Turvy Turtle Love

I knew you before I met you
No way I could forget you
In my dreams before I dreamt
Inside my heart you were kept

Oh what a melancholy
to realize all these lies-
of the past are fully missed
the understanding not withstanding

Oh baby I knew you before I met you
I dreamt each night that I’d get you
That you’d choose me from that pond
I’d swim sideways if I had to for you

Where are we on this empty afternoon
work the only jerk to bother us
the only thing to cause a fuss
but I find you’re like wine

Get me drunk off your smell
hot boxing off you in my shell
dancing inside a stationary hide
this facade is so odd

I may frown
I may cry
But I’ll never hurt inside
with you by my side

Elizabethtown

Cars tires might be flat
windows might be busted
axels might be rusted
but nothing can halt me
no canyon can stop me
from the travel now
down the Elizabethtown.

Rain never falls here
No tears on these streets
Not a frown hides within
No person lacks a friend
it’s all happiness
a sunny sky comforts
as snow falls

Not a flake melts
in Elizabethtown
they float merrily
tingling the cheeks
of anyone who seeks
to feel good today
just travels down
Elizabethtown

Don’t fear this perfect place
it exists for everyone
your towns name may change
but the feelings are the same
find that brilliant builder
that cunning carpenter
who’ll build a town just for you

But for me at least
I know where I belong
the place that can only be found
inside the words of this song
Elizabethtown

This special place in my Heart
